Hello World

How very nice to meet you!

If you’re here it’s probably because you need a talented web developer. If you’ve got a great team of people looking for someone like me to join then everything would truly be coming up SimonLittle.Online

A Little About Me

I got into coding when I was nine making text based adventure games on a Commodore 64 and saving to tapes. Then building websites as soon as I discovered their existence back in the days of AOL dialup CDs as a means of showing off photos and music.

Although the days of HTML tables are nearly all gone (but not quite - email eh?) and it’s all Composer, SASS, and NPM, I’m still passionate about bringing striking designs to life and connecting up the dots of APIs amongst complicated server architectures.

However I’ve always strived to produce websites that are as intuitive and robust as possible... while still hitting those deadlines.

My Skills

The lion’s share of my skills are in coding, but I’ve picked up essentials like design, client liaison, and project planning and management along the way.

What I can do

I write mostly in PHP and Javascript, a little Java/Android, then of course HTML and CSS/SASS. I have used Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, CodeIgnitor, Laravel but can do from-scratch work too. I know how to login to and configure linux servers setup using either terminal or cPanel and use GIT for version control whenever possible.

Take A Look

I have had the privilege of working at some really fun and interesting places on some amazing projects. Here is some of my favourite work from over the years.

Projects coded by me

16 Bishopswood Road

I like how clean and spacious the designer (Charlotte), made this site. It absolutely reflects the size and decor of the splendid property. I also had fun making the burger menu animate.

A name change later, they’ve almost sold all of the central London properties that were showing on the site which was a breeze but also very fun to build.

MSI Global

A lot goes on in the background that you can’t see on the surface which made this a very in-depth project. I was able to put all I knew at the time to the test and learnt a thing or two in the process.

Portobello Square

I really enjoyed making this because of it’s vibrant design. Between me and you, I’ve never actually been to this part of town but looking at this site does make me consider having a look at least for a coffee.

McLaren Group

I was part of a team at Philosophy who worked very closely with the people at McLaren on their main corporate site and their HR Onboarding Portal. They got exactly what they needed and we got smiles all round.

LHC

Normally I would happily build both front and back-end but this time round it was just front end which was then plugged into Umbraco by an external team that I worked with.

Although the grounds had been laid for me before I started I was able to put some real work into this project as well as numerous others like their intranet and the regional campaigns for employment or subsidiaries.
